Cost optimization in series production
09.09.2025
Projektbericht

By selecting products with high cost and market pressure as well as cross-functional cooperation, the project aims to achieve significant cost reductions and to identify cost increases and to work against them.
Challenge
Series production products were under increasing cost pressure, in particular due to rising material and energy costs and the need to become more competitive in a competitive market. The challenge was to select the right products from the portfolio to represent a larger number of components in order to develop focused cost reduction measures.
Our Approach
A cross-functional team from the areas of engineering, purchasing, sales, product management, value engineering and operations was formed to generate ideas and develop solutions.
As an external service provider, we ensured the structure, organization and optimization of the project by bringing in methods to reduce costs and an effective process framework.
The result
The project resulted in cost savings of up to 12% per product.
In addition, by building cost transparency and awareness, the components were identified that were particularly frequently in focus and required cost optimization.
A monitor for monitoring price increases and the introduction of a baseline for regular cost reviews made a significant contribution to increasing efficiency.
conclusion
With this project, we were not only able to achieve a significant cost reduction,
but also establish a sustainable structure for continuous monitoring and optimization of production costs.
A decisive step towards ensuring competitiveness in the long term.
