Significant increase in overhauled tank engines
15.09.2025
Projektbericht

In this area, Rolls-Royce Solutions is transforming itself from a classic workshop to small series production, while at the same time mastering the high complexity of the repair business.
Challenge
The repair turnaround times were significantly above target, which led to long downtimes and limited operability of the vehicles.
The reasons were inefficient processes, limited capacities and bottlenecks in the supply of spare parts — both with external suppliers and in internal processes such as dismantling, diagnosis, assembly, production and administration.
Our Approach
- Optimization of repair processes along the entire value chain (including contract drafting and negotiation with BAAINBW)
- Analysis and redesign of repair processes, including logistics and parts supply (e.g. introduction of fleet reman/neutralized cross-assembly)
- Automate and standardize processes to minimize turnaround times
- Improving communication and cooperation between various departments, suppliers and customers (BAAINBW and system houses)
The result
> 40% reduction in repair costs through process optimization and increased efficiency
> 20% reduction in repair costs through improved use of resources and reduced waste
Optimized spare parts availability and faster logistics processes, resulting in higher repair quality
30% increase in repair capacity, further minimizing downtime
